Les plus observateurs d'entres-nous ont effectivement déjà remarqué que PEUGEOT nommait ses voiture de trois chiffre et que le chiffre du milieu était toujours un zéro. Les 104, 205, 305, et plus récemment les 206, 207, 306, 307, 407, 407 etc...
Je sais, les petits malins vont me dire : "Et la 1007", et bien la 1007 c l'exeption
et puis surtout, PEUGEOT a déjà pas mal utilisé de ces chiffres et il n'en reste plus.Arrivé à 909 ce sera foutu.
L'explication : Elle est très simple, les frères PEUGEOT (Jean-Pierre et Jean Frédéric PEUGEOT, associés à Mr Jacques MAILLARD-SALINS) se sont mis à fabriquer des voitures en 1921.
A cette époque, les automobiles démarraient à la manivelle, alors ils ont décidé de nommer leurs voitures à l'aide de trois chiffres et d'inscrire ce numéro sur la calandre avec un zéro au milieu(x0x) pour le trou de la fameuse manivelle.
Lors de la création des modèles suivants ils ont conservé l'idée car tout le monde avait pris l'habitude à ce système d'appellation.

Apparemment Peugeot a déposé plusieurs autres numéros avec un zéro au milieu au cas où elle en ait besoin pour de nouvelles voitures.
Au fait la Peugeot 404 a existé !!! :)
la porsche 911 s'appelait 901 au départ (il y a même des modèle qui sont sortis comme ça) Peugeot s'est plaint et ça s'est réglé à l'amiable d'où le 911
